Privacy Policy — C P Church App
Last updated: September 18, 2026
This policy explains what information the C P Church mobile application (the “App”) collects, why it is used, how it is shared and stored, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, the App may collect or process:
- Member account information: your name, username, password, and optional contact detail when you request church-approved access. Passwords are stored by the service only in hashed form.
- Authentication and security information: session tokens, password-reset information, login-attempt records, and security/audit records used to protect member accounts.
- Prayer requests: the prayer text you submit, your optional name and mobile number, and your choice about whether the request may be shown publicly.
- Quiz information: quiz attempts, selected answers, scores, completion time, language, and related account identity. A winner's display name, quiz number, and rank may be shown in the App.
- Push-notification information: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, a randomly generated app device identifier, and device platform, used to deliver account or church notifications.
- App data stored on your device: session information, notification registration information, preferences, and unfinished quiz answers.
- Technical information: information ordinarily sent when the App connects to an online service, such as IP address, request time, and basic server logs.
The App does not request access to your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos. We do not use personal information for advertising.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- review and manage requests for congregation access;
- authenticate members, maintain sessions, reset passwords, and protect the service from abuse;
- provide church content, announcements, events, sermons, galleries, clergy information, giving information, and other App features;
- receive and administer prayer requests according to the visibility choice you make;
- operate quizzes, save progress, calculate results, and display eligible winners;
- send push notifications and respond to questions or support requests; and
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App and its supporting services.
3. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be disclosed only as needed:
- To authorized church administrators who review access requests, administer accounts, prayer requests, quizzes, and church services.
- At your direction: a prayer request may be displayed publicly if you select the public option; eligible quiz winner details may be shown in the App.
- To service providers: hosting/infrastructure providers and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging process limited information to operate the service and deliver notifications.
- For legal or safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, a lawful request, or to protect users, the church, or the service.
4. Permissions and Third-Party Services
The Android App uses Internet access to communicate with the church service. It may use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Google's handling of information is governed by its own privacy terms. If you choose the quiz-feedback feature, the App opens your device's email composer; no email is sent unless you review and send it.
5. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Account and service information is retained for as long as your account remains necessary to provide church services, and afterward only as needed for security, record-keeping, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Session and reset tokens expire or are revoked. Unfinished quiz answers are stored locally on your device until submitted or removed. Push-registration data is retained while needed to deliver notifications.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information or account by contacting us using the email below. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and record-keeping needs. Removing your account may prevent you from using member-only features.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls, hashed passwords, hashed server-side authentication and device tokens, and secure on-device storage for sensitive session data. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The App is intended for use in connection with a church community and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
8. Your Choices
You may choose not to provide optional contact details, a name or mobile number with a prayer request, or public visibility for a prayer request. You may disable App notifications in your device settings. You may also sign out to remove the active session from the App.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its services, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
